For the past week a nearby volcano, Mt. Redoubt, has been erupting. It's about 100 miles southwest of Anchorage. On Saturday the wind shifted and blew ash clouds to our area after two major explosions. Here are some pictures after the ash fell. The one on top shows the sun being obscured by the ash cloud and the dirty snow. On Brian's truck, the gray part of the windshield wipers is actually ash that has accumulated from the windshield. We are all okay here, but Lucy and I spent Sunday inside the house just to be safe.
