Montague Island

Larry took us and the Kiles out for a day at the beach.  An Alaskan day at the beach that is.  We landed on the large beach on Jeanie Cove and had a picnic lunch.  Subway for the adults and PB & J for the kiddos.  It was kinda cold and windy though so we loaded back into the plane to try our luck on Log Jam Beach.  Sure enough the wind was not so strong and the sun came out.  We walked up and down the beach looking for treasures.  I found an entire crab shell.  Kelly found a cooler lid and a rope and fashioned a sand sled out of them for Casey to ride on.  We brought our baby backpack for Lucy.  On Brian's back she rode with a birds eye view.  As we approached a small river entering the ocean we saw three sea otters making their way back out to the ocean, though none of us was fast enough with our camera.  Most of us took off our shoes to wade through the ankle deep water.  We checked out some tidal pools, but they were all empty.  All in all, it was a fantastic day.
